ABOUT THE ARTIST:
The main object of my art practice is a (disabled) body with special needs as 'different', broken, hurt, minor, etc. which connects with various techno objects as constructions, wheelchairs, prostheses and finally creates one system, one constructed body- a cyborg.
In my artistic practice, I have worked extensively with the image we have about disabilities. My goal is to question the various taboos of disability created through politics, media and the beauty industry. Currently I'm interested in themes of sex and disability. It seems that when disability is visible, sex rarely exists.

DESCRIPTIONS
Exercise Nr. 1:
A segmented figure is on a black background.
In a white square is the head, a line drawing of simple features with lines and arcs marking the facial proportions. On either side of the head are crude skulls in white outlined in pink. Separated and below is the upper chest which is crisscrossed with black and gray straps. Pale pink arms extend from the chest, attached with visible shoulder joints and ligaments. The torso is black with a central vertical band of silver.
Below the torso, two tan colored legs with poles of black dashed lines running through them sit on a honeycomb patterned block of white on gray. These legs are not attached to the body and have no feet. The right leg is bent at the knee, and where it extends beyond the gray background the leg is solid gray. Small rectangular blocks of grey and white honeycomb flank a central blue and black honeycomb cube at the bottom of the image.
Exercise Nr. 17:
A segmented figure is on a black background.
The head is a perfect pink circle with hints of silver and hovers over the body. The body is inside a white frame and appears to be a negative image. Its neck muscles are taut. The figure wears a white t-shirt and a dark full body brace with a strap across the chest. The brace encases the body below the breasts. The figure’s arms are at its sides, elbows slightly bent. Over the lower edge of the t-shirt, masculine hands clutch blue shorts. The figure has a prosthetic right leg with a metal knee joint.
