ABOUT THE ARTWORK:

“The Parking Blanket is a crocheted and appliqued blanket/rug based on the blue placard parking sign.
It is highly textured, heavy, and colorful for added sensory joy.”

Penny L. Richards, PhD is a Research Assistant Professor affiliated with the Department of History and the Center for Disability Studies at University at Buffalo. She is also a full time carer living in Redondo Beach, California, and enjoys the challenge and fun of making things for, and having adventures with, her adult son, Jake Turley.
