STATEMENT:

I live in a science fiction post apocalyptic junk drawer. My pieces are about otherness and not otherness done in a Dadaist style. I am concentrating on the space between language and action, and take a gestural/deconstructive approach to pop art.
My name is David Isakson. I am an award winning self-taught artist with over 113 group shows to my credit. I weld and join materials to make humorous deconstructions out of everyday objects. I am neurodiverse.

DESCRIPTION:

Useless Assistive Device
Two 12-foot-long skis are attached by a yellow bracket between 2 up right wheelchair wheels set a foot apart. The skis extend further forward than behind the wheels.  A tennis racket is centered between the wheels and over the bracket. The tips of the skis rest on a concrete walkway in dappled sunlight. Crates, a black tarp and clutter flank the walkway.
