ABOUT THE ART:
Created to celebrate accessibility in fine dining establishments. No matter what our abilities, we can enjoy the finest the world has to offer. This work invites the viewers to indulge their culinary fantasies of tasteful opulence, limitless budget and global pantry. A burgundy leather upholstered, electric basketball wheelchair sits in the lobby of a fine dining restaurant, “Truffles & Saffron”.
DESCRIPTION:
Dining Out In Style
A rust colored tufted arm chair forms the seat of a wheelchair. Raffia fringes dangle from the bottom of the seat and large round shields serve as wheels. Fanning out from the back of the chair are gray peacock feathers. A control pad is attached to the right arm and a martini glass with an olive rests on the left arm. To the left of the chair is a silver menu with gold script that reads: Truffles & Saffron, Fine Dining, Coffin bay oysters, A5 Kobe beef, Fourchan lobster, Akifugu, Caviar 18 carat gold tin, Bluefin tuna, Angulas, Matutake mushrooms. A silver rod with three blown glass orbs sits to the left of the menu. A round gold clock occupies the gray wall to the far right: the time is 3:07. A rust colored shag rug covers the floor.
